Penne - The treasures of Law of Courts / I tesori delle preture, by Gilberto Petrucci
Documents and trial acts since 1750 have been catalogued and will be delivered to the state archive of Pescara. Four Courts of Law functioned in the area: Catignano, Loreto Aprutino, Penne and Pianella. Among the acts also trials of highwaymen.

Ferrovia Sangritana - 150 years' history / 150 anni di storia, by Gino Melchiorre
A recent book by Mario Di Pietro and Carmine Marino, "La ferrovia Sangritana nella storia e nelle prospettive d'Abruzzo" starting from 1853 when baron Panfilo De Riseis, Council President of Abruzzo Citra, presented a project to connect the Adriatic to the Tyrrhenian Sea along the Sangro valley. Ortona to Naples would take seven hours, instead of three days. Finally in 1912 the first tract was inaugurated. but the connection to Naples was never completed.
