Ancarano - The Tronto boundary through history / Il fiume Tronto: un confine attraverso la storia

A study meeting is opening today on the historical events of the boundary between Marches and Abruzzo. The meeting derives from a great project "Il confine nel tempo", of the administrations of the Vibrata valley, and those along the river Tronto from Arquata to San Benedetto del Tronto.

Lama dei Peligni - Two royal owls born in captivity / Nati due gufi reali
In the bird cage of the botanical garden in Lama a couple of owls unable to fly after being wounded by shooters were able to reproduce. The royal owl is the largest nocturnal rapacious bird in Europe and is very rare in Abruzzo. The great killers of these birds are electric cables suspended from poles.

Brittoli - A monument for the British pilots / Una lapide per i piloti morti

Barry Thomas Hurst and Nicholas Paul Tucker, killed in the crash of their small plane on Mount Cannatina near Brittoli last July are now commemorated by a stone monument. Today Nicholas would have been 30 years old, and his parents wanted to remember him with this event. On the monument the words: «Fly fly precious ones, your endless journey has just begun, Nicholas Paul Tucker born 22.05.1970 - Barry Thomas Hurst born 16.04.1963 - died here together 15 july 1999".

Civitella Casanova - The new parish priest arrives / Civitella abbraccia il suo nuovo parroco
Don Giuseppe Maione, 35, from Catignano, arrived yesterday evening at 19 hours, in the company of the archbishop of Pescara, monsignor Francesco Cuccarese. In the presence of other 15 priests the new parish priest celebrated Mass in the church of Beata Vergine Madonna delle Grazie. Previous parish priest Umberto Di Giacomo, from Castel Castagna (Teramo), guided the parish from 1953 to his death, last 22 april.
