Sulmona - Costume meeting for the Giostra / Per la Giostra assemblea in costume
The Giostra Cavalleresca Association from Sulmona will take part this Saturday and Sunday to the national meeting of the Federazione Italiana Giochi Storici at Cerreto Guidi near Florence. This is the first time that the group from Sulmona is admitted to the meeting, and is a great occasion to organize exchanges. All proceedings will take place in costume in a Medicean villa, after a parade of 57 municipalities with their coat of arms.

Tour operators and hoteliers of the area have made an association, named Talassa (meaning "sea" in ancient Greek) to make the next summer season really memorable for visitors and residents starting with fireworks on 24 june and finishing on 26 august.

Penne - Swallows are back on the Penne Lake / Le rondini volano sulla riserva, by Jolanda Ferrara
The "balestrucci", one of the most common swallow species in Abruzzo, are back to the Lake of Penne from South Africa. More swallows are expected to arrive in the next days. The Oasis operators are placing artificial nests to restore the environmental needs of the birds. Swallows, great predators of flies and mosquitoes, are an important help to biological agriculture. Town dwellers are also invited to place artificial nests (provided by the local WWF association) under their roofs.
