MESSAGGERO - In Washington John Snyder, President of the "Possenti society" says San Gabriele is the patron of gun shooters. Not so, say the friars. The statement that in 1860 Gabriele fought against the Piedmontese is false. San Gabriele, the patron of youth since 1926 and of Abruzzo since 1959 never fired one single shot and no pope ever declared him the patron of arms bearers.

70-year-old Giuseppe Ricci tells the story of his fight, after the flood, against cholera. In the mission there are 174 kids, all "ninhos da rua", all in need of medical care, food, shelter. And life is dangerous there, people can rob you of anything.

IL CENTRO - - Manoppello - A meeting on the Volto Santo / Un convegno sul Volto Santo, by Adriana Settuario
An international meeting starts tomorrow under the title of "Il Mistero del Volto Santo di Manoppello. La Maiella, montagna sacra, Domus Christi". A documentary will be shown with musics by Ennio Morricone, following the story of the finding of the relics and the historical reconstruction of the events leading to the discovery of its importance.

IL CENTRO - - Teramo - Gastronomic spring / Una primavera gastronomica, by Stefano Cianciotta
From 28 april to 1st may Slowfood Abruzzo will organize "La grande cucina teramana", with cultural excursions, dinners, visits to oil, wine and cheese producers and a taste laboratory. Lunches and dinners will be held in such scenarios as Torre di Cerrano, Silvi, palazzo Farnese, Campli, Council Chamber in the Comune di Atri, the Convento di Mosciano.
